How does JDVision choose a winner? Voting, demystified...

After the success of last year’s introduction of a split Jury and Public vote, this year continues with refinements to make the show more exciting and fair.

Did you know? Poland won both the Jury and Public votes in 2025, making JDVision history.

In JDVision, one chunk of the vote comes from the Team Juries, with the rest of the vote coming from the Public.

Team Jury Vote (30%)

All participating teams act as juries, voting on every mashup except their own. This helps us build a great base of objectively-awarded points for all mashups.

For teams with multiple members, we ask them to rank every single mashup in the competition from most favourite to least favourite. Teams with only one member only have to provide the final top 10.

Jurors are asked to rank the mashups based on a set criteria. Here’s what they recieve when the voting starts.

To the best of your abilities as experienced mashuppers, you should rank all 25 OTHER mashups in the competition fairly and without bias. This obviously doesn’t include your own mashup.

Mashups should be ranked on their creative quality in several areas. These can include but are not limited to:

  • Choreography
  • Background
  • Overall Concept and Execution
  • Song Choice

The results of the Team Jury Vote are presented during the Grand Final, with each team sending a spokesperson to announce that country’s coveted 12 points!

Public Vote (70%)

After collecting the Jury Votes, we ask the wider community to have their say on who should win the contest.

Members of the public choose five of their favourite mashups, in no particular order.

Once all of the results are collected, we apply a rank-based weighting to the televote, providing clear data on the public’s opinion.

The results of the Public Vote are presented during the Grand Final after all the juries have voted. Points are revealed in ascending order, starting with the country that recieved the least amount of points from the juries.

Tiebreakers

In all cases, the Public Vote has more power than the Team Jury Vote, and is always used first when breaking ties. If a tie remains after the Public Vote has been considered, we break ties by checking who got more 12s from the Juries. If those are the same, we check 10s, 8s, and so on.
